Accounting Apprenticeships with Ward Goodman
At Ward Goodman, we offer accounting apprenticeships to school-leavers in the local area.
We support training in all principal qualifications including:
- AAT – for school-leavers
- ACA – we are ACA Approved Training Providers
- ACCA – we are a Gold Approved Training Practice
- You will be supported throughout all levels of your training.
- Your personal progress is regularly assessed through our appraisal procedure.
- Your study options are not fixed and we look for students to take ownership of their own career path in order to enhance their own development here at Ward Goodman.
Here at WG we offer placements for GCSE students to experience working in an accountancy practice, usually for a 1 to 2 week period.
We also provide general work experience within the accounts, audit, outsourcing and financial services departments at our Ferndown office. You can gain practical experience of working in a professional office environment as well as developing skills and knowledge within the department you’re working in.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a strong academic track record, so you will need excellent A level passes. We don’t just value people for their academic achievements but also for the qualities they can bring to Ward Goodman.

What we can offer you
Here at WG we offer the opportunity to study for the AAT qualification with a view to progressing on to studying for the ACA or ACCA qualifications.
As a gold approved ACCA training provider and an approved ACA training provider, you will be supported throughout each level of your studies. WG will provide a full study package which includes all your text books, course fees and fully paid leave to attend classes and study as well as a workplace mentor.
You will be part of a professional and dynamic team in which to develop practical skills and knowledge and accrue hands on experience from day one.
Apprenticeship applications should be submitted in February and March each year with the apprentice training contract commencing in September providing the necessary academic qualifications are achieved.
