Lisa McIntosh raises £1200 on the Shine Night Walk in aid of Leukaemia Research

Ward Goodman Chartered Management Accountant, Lisa Mcintosh, has raised over £1200 in aid of leukaemia research by taking part in the 2017 Shine Night Walk on 23 September.

Lisa Mcinstosh, Chartered Management Accountant at Ward Goodman’s Ferndown officesLisa, whose sister Claire was diagnosed with leukaemia 16 months ago, took on the challenge alongside Claire and approximately 15,000 others who walked 26.2 miles, overnight, across London.

Lisa said: “Thankfully, my sister Claire is now in remission, but as part of her recovery she decided to try raise as much money as possible to give back to the various organisations who have supported her.  The Shine Night Walk was a really difficult task, but Claire and I managed to complete the 26.2 miles in 9 ½ hours, finishing – very tired and sore –  at about 7.30am on Sunday morning.

“I’m very proud of my sister who was picked to be the face of the Shine Walk for 2017.  The trial that she was part of during her treatment was funded by Cancer Research and her story was shown on repeat on the big screen throughout the night and certainly gave us both a boost to get around, which at certain stages was very much needed!  I’m very grateful to everyone who sponsored us and am really pleased to have raised this sum for a fantastic charity which has helped our family, as well as countless others, enormously over the past 16 months.”
